Clean, well maintained, and popular on an extremely hot summer day. The Walkway Over the Hudson is the reason you ride this rail trail, Can't seem to pick the right time for peak foliage. You will have to ride very slow over the Walkway, as there are a lot of walkers, but you're going to want to stop and take pictures anyway! What an amenity cycling under the shade on a hot morning cant recommend this highly enough. THANKS for repaving the section just up from walkway that used to be a wash board Thanks.

All in all the river trail is very nice, even with a couple of miles of in road biking. Take the Metro-North Harlem Line to Brewster Station or the Hudson Line to Poughkeepsie Station to access the trail. Cyclists approaching walkers (or even other cyclists) from behind should call out "on your left" before overtaking walkers (or other cyclists). My husband and I tried to continue the trail behind Vintage Village and found that someone had roped it off, so that was a disappointment.
